Would love to hear more about how you keep groceries so low! I know that's an area lots of folks struggle with in HCOL areas, self included.

hi aviv! i actually recently decided to increase my grocery budget to $350/mo for latter half of september, bc i've been finding myself cooking so much more (for my partner and even friends) and eating out less!! this increase in spending is going to be reflected in september's monthly list (still in the process of writing), for sure, but i am also trying to experiment with recipes and figure out how to cut down costs, cut down on food waste, and eat healthier!!!

Hope you don’t mind if I ask, was the Din Tai Fung the only time in the month that you had a social-eating out expense (with more than just your partner)?

i also got coffee with my bumble bff book club and covered ice cream for my friends (bc they covered my meal)!

This really pushed me to evaluate my finances! I'm currently having at least one social dinner a week with friends (outside my husband), and definitely a place where a chunk of my budget goes to!

social hangouts can be sooo expensive! that's why when my friend visited last weekend, i cooked 1 out of the 3 meals in total we had together!
