Welcome to the seventh report card, that will span musings from June 15th to 21st. The acronym for today’s report stands for: Recap, Eats, Productions, Obsessions, R³ (Receipts, Rejects, and Reaps), and Tidbits.

Meadow, 1875, Albert Sisley

part i: recap

Last Sunday was Father’s Day. The relationship with my dad, or a-phay (အဖေ), has slowly changed, from one filled with deep resentment (and at times, hatred), to one of sympathy, kindness, and compassion. I dealt with emotional abuse from my parents during my formative years, simply because they didn’t know how to parent. Helicopter parenting was their method of gaining control over my life, and it drove me to thoughts of su*cidal intent. My privacy was breached multiple times, as my dad installed Norton Security on all computers, blocked social media website (he considered Gmail as one), timed all my breaks from studying (no more than 15 minutes every 1 hour), and monitored my website search history. I was held captive in emotional imprisonment.
