report card 11: on turning 27
october 2024: job dissatisfaction, liam payne's death, simu liu's cultural appropriation debate, and how much i spent for my birthday with a $300 budget
this month i’ve learned: hydrogen peroxide effectively removes blood stains; life only gets really good after it gets really bad; don’t be stingy—there is always room in the budget to donate to people in need; keep good friends close and enemies far away
My monthly Report Cards are a special gift for my paid subscribers and showcase a more vulnerable, in-depth look into how my month went outside of my finances. I also discuss finances in a more nuanced manner as compared to my monthly lists that are much more straightforward and report numbers/checklists. The intention of these newsletters is to maintain my privacy as I do share snippets about my personal relationships and favorite local restaurants/cafes that I don’t feel comfortable revealing to the general public (for identity reasons as an anonymous creator here).
This report card is a special one, in honor of my birthday month. Cheers to a longish read and tons of reflection.
ONE. Another year, another existential crisis cry.
